The LSC-Tomball Timberwolves took on LSC-Kingwood and new head coach Marcia Oliviera.
Oliviera, a former NCAA Division 1 coach had her team organized from the beginning until Tomball freshman Eric Lara (Cy-Creek) was able to break down the defense with a through ball to fellow freshman Mark Kinyan (Kenya) who would slot the ball into the goal at the 9:45 mark.
The game would remain end to end as neither team could gain possession until Kingwood was able to score in the 33 minute directly off a corner kick. Six minutes later captain Darwin Lopez (Klein) would spring sophomore forward Derrick Labroda into a break away with a quick ball over the top which Labroda would finish and take the team to half time leading 2-1.
The Timberwolves took over immediately in the second half after Coach Grove put them in a high pressing situation from the kickoff which caused panic and enabled Kinyan to score a second off a pass from Nixon Lionixx (Jamaica). Eight minutes later the Jamaican would score off a beautiful bicycle kick from 17 yards out. In the 65th minute sophomore Adrian Reyes (Klein Oak) would score an unassisted goal and would follow that up with his brace off an assist from freshman Luis Medina (Klein Collins).
The Timberwolves outshot Kingwood 26-6 and remain in first place in the HSC Conference.
