LSC-Tomball took on Houston Baptist University on Saturday and were able to defeat their opponent 6-0 in a home match for the Timberwolves.
The game got off to an intense start with both teams seeing their fair possession of the ball until Sergio Sanchez (Klein) was able to score the first goal of the match unassisted at the 15:35 mark. Ten minutes later Sanchez would hit a long shot from 25 yards out which the keeper would deflect but Juan Arrazola(Klein Collins) would touch it in making the score 2-0.The HBU keeper would hurt his wrist on the play and have to be substituted. Two minutes later after a save by captain Victor Martinez(Tomball), sophomore Derrick LaBroda (Klein Collins) would spring himself on a break away where he nutmegged the HBU replacement keeper. In the second half Tomball would put the game out of reach when freshman forward Luis Medina(Klein Collins) would beat two defenders and cross the ball which resulted in an own goal by HBU. The game would be finished out with two more goals off assists by Lionel Nixxon (Klein Oak) to Mark Kinyan (Kenya) and LaBroda respectively. Freshman keeper Antonio Salgado(Klein Oak) would make two key saves towards the end of the game to preserve the defensive shutout.
The Timberwolves are back in action Thursday night in an away match against HCC-South East.
