Timberwolves roll Montgomery 9-2

The Timberwolves won their second straight conference game on Saturday defeating local rival Lone Star College Montgomery 9-2.

LSC-T got off the mark early when sophomore Saidou Naindou took the ball up the flank and put in a low cross to Juan Arrazola who finished the ball first time in the eighth minute.  The game would remain 1-0 until the 29:15 mark when Derrick Labrada scored the second goal of the game on an assist by Rodrigo Munoz. Two minutes later Arrazola would add his second of the game scoring off a free kick taken by freshman Vincent Bugge. Fellow freshman Stevan Bonilla would score the next two goals of the match in the 37th and 44th minute marks rounding out the scoring for the first half.

In the second half Eric Diaz would score four minutes in off a cross from Arrazola.  Diaz would return the favor three minutes later by assisting Arrazola off a cross.  Montgomery would get on the score board at the 56:30 mark when they were able to capitalize off a direct free kick from the corner. Four minutes later Bonilla would answer the LSC-M score by getting his hat trick with an unassisted effort.  Montgomery would get their second and final goal of the game at the 76:30 mark which was followed by a final goal from the Timberwolves’ Naindou which was assisted by Diaz.

Overall coach Grove was happy with the performance saying, “I was happy with how the team played today considering we are still learning how to play together.  I was a bit disappointed in our two lapses of concentration that lead to our goals against though”.

The Timberwolves will be back in action Saturday (10/4) at noon for a home match vs. HCC-Central.  Admission is free.
